I guess I am going to "cancel" myself by speaking up and will probably lose business partners and clients over this. But here I go, practicing my "1st amendment rights".
Let's see how well, or worse for that matter, this turns out.
What is the BLM narrative?
It is an idea that pushes the thought that only black lives matter, that only blacks are important. I say this because BLM leaders have publicly said, "Whites must die!" and "We are trained Marxists!"
Their agenda is clear - Destroy anyone and everyone not like them.
Listen, I have nothing against anyone, regardless of your skin color or ethnicity. Period. I judge people by their actions, whether they're good or bad.
But this "In Your Face" push to make everything about black America is getting ridiculous. I have a lot of black friends that say the same thing to me in private, but won't speak up in public for fear of reprisal.
Case in point my LinkedIn Account this morning. First thing I see, "Black Voices To Follow and Amplify".
So, I should "Link" with these black "voices", not because I should do it for the good of my business, but rather for the good of their benefit, because they're black and not because they have some talent or business skill that my business actually needs to cross pollinate with? Does that about sum it up?
Look, I have 1300 followers, and that took many long years.
I need people to follow my business on LinkedIn.
I don't need to follow rich or prominent celebrities of any color with 80k, 90k, 125,000 or more followers that have ZERO in common with, nor interest in my business.
They do not need me to follow them. They should be following me, the small business owner.
Since March, I have lost over 50% of my business due to Covid-19. Covid-19 is color-blind. It cares little about my skin, my race, my age, my religion nor my ethnicity nor where I was born. Yes, in case you were wondering, I am, an immigrant.
I guess the fact that I am also a veteran small business owner is probably going to be used against me now too.
Tired of the one-sided main stream media and the rhetoric it disseminates.
My question to LinkedIn, Where are the "White Voices To Follow and Amplify?" "Asian Voices?" "Hispanic Voices?" "Small Business Voices?" "The Self Employed Voices?"
etc, etc, etc, etc. By only focusing on a single group, You have excluded everyone else.
That, by definition, is racism.
