As I peruse online posts about AI, or posts created with AI, including photos and images, I worry about our future as the human race and our ability to innovate.

Using AI to rewrite your posts, your resume, your SOWs, your contracts and using AI to glamourize your head shot photo, all of this, turning you into someone you are not, is the fakest thing since I don’t know what.

Be you, be yourself.  Rely on your knowledge, and showcase the person we will meet in real life, let us see your actual skills, talents and personality, not the AI exaggerated person you think will sell more or land you a better job.

When home renovation contractors paint the walls, clean the windows, pressure wash the roof and color it, without replacing rotten compromised lumber, failed shingles or siding, we call that, “Putting lipstick on a pig…”, all for a quick sale and quality be dammed.

It looks great now, until you actually dig deeper and get to know the actual faults of the home.

IMHO, when you use AI to make you, and your work product into something you are not, or not capable of, it’s the same thing.

Keep in mind, every time you use AI, you are training the AI and making yourself less needed. 

We are literally AI’ing ourselves into irrelevance.

AI for performing complex computations?  Yes.

AI for a glamour shot? No.  For that, get gussied up, go to an actual photographer, and let another human being create a good photo of you, keeping them employed.

It’s starting to look like that all of those science fiction movies were not entertainment, but actual warnings of what not to do.

From the original Jurassic Park movie Jeff Goldblum’s character said, “They were s enthralled they could, they never thought whether they should…”
