In another hit to IT folks and other soft skill workers, more layoffs.  Why?  Pretty much because of the exponential growth of AI.  How will employees with soft skills be able to earn a living, once they're let go?  Who will hire someone working in that field, if AI has already proven it can do it faster and cheaper?  Will they take a pay cut, work longer hours? What is the remedy?

The writing is on the wall, people with soft skills are becoming obsolete way faster than anticipated.

How long before AI robots start replacing people with hard skills? 

If the incredible speed of the rise of AI is any hint, it won't be long.

Time to go back to school and learn jobs that require hard skills.  Welder, plumber, carpenter, electrician, doctor, nurse, and yes, even undertaker.  

I am thankful that I am very close to retirement and hopefully won't have to deal with these issues for much longer.
