2. USA is a net exporter of energy (we export more than we import)
3. USA Brent Sweet crude – best oil in the world
4. USA Imports 1.3% of all gasoline consumed in the country from other countries
5. USA imports 4% of all diesel consumed in the country from other countries
Yes, you read correct, 1.3% and 4%. That’s it.
So, if all of that is true, which it is, why is gas $4 to $5 a gallon, and diesel over $6 a gallon today? The diesel refineries destroyed by Ukraine in Russia – no real issue for the US. Iran shut down, no oil exports, again no real issue for the US. Check the facts again at the top. Based on our own energy independence, we should be looking at $2 dollar gas and $3 diesel. If we stopped exporting our great oil, and made up that small percentage of imported fuel by restarting the refineries that the Biden administration shutdown, we would be so much better off. Yet, here we are, being lied to, taken advantage of, and once again, US Citizen must bear the cost of the world’s failures. Always the US tax payer. Always.
